This is the bug description I included in my report, just in case some wants further info:
"Just installed Unity v5.1.1f1, and I'm running the most basic setup before migrating our Unity 4 project. I went to Edit > Preferences > External Tools to set TKDiff as the current external merging tool, but Unity says it is not installed in my computer. I've double-checked and it is, and I've even reinstalled the lastest version (TKDiff v4.2), but Unity still says there is not a merging tool in my PC. Even the 'Version Control' option in the Window dropdown menu is disabled!
I'm using the basic Example Project, so it is definitely a Unity issue."
