Tool handles are invisible in Scene View when certain objects are selected
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new project
2. Create or select Main Camera in Hierarchy
3. Select Move Tool in Scene View
4. Observe Scene View
Expected result: Move Tool handles appear in Scene View and selected object can be moved
Actual result: Move Tool handles are not rendered
Reproduced with: 2022.1.0a13, 2021.2.1f1
Didn't reproduce with: 2022.1.0a12, 2021.2.0b17, 2021.1.27f1, 2020.3.21f1, 2019.4.32f1
Note:
Affects Move, Rotate, Scale, Rect, Transform tool handles
Handles are rendered as expect for specific objects (e.g. empty gameobject, cube, etc.), but not for others (e.g. camera, directional light, etc.)

I just installed 2021.2.3f and this is still broken. It was supposed to be fixed on this version. Anyone saw the problem fixed?

Light Gizmos in URP 12.1 and Unity 2021.2.2f1 completely dissapeared, can't work on my project.

Like others said, disabling the gizmo handles actually enables them. This is done in the 'gizmo' drop-down menu in the scene view: click the show/hide checkbox of the relevant gizmo.
This breaks secondary gizmos however. For example, disabling the light probe gizmo enables the light probe handles, but disables the handles of individual light nodes.

Is this bug also related to grid components not rendering the grid correctly in the scene view? I recently updated to 2021.2.1f1, noticed this gizmos problem, AND also noticed that when I select a GameObject in my Hierarchy, the view of its grid is also completely useless. A grid with cell sizes of 1,1,1 basically shows up in the scene view as a large solid gray shape skewed up and to the left. If I change the cell sizes to something larger, say 50,50,50 it more closely resembles what 1,1,1 *should* look like (though, still skewed).
I can reproduce this behavior in a new, clean project as well as my upgraded project.
I'm assuming that my grid problem, the UI issue mentioned by Lolium, and this bug all have the same root cause

As WARPEDPIPE said, it also affects UI elements

Custom handles also won't show up in 2021.2.1 and 2021.2.2. Tested with Handles.PositionHandle and Handles.FreeMoveHandle.
Turning off scene view gizmo display won't resolve this issue.
