[Hub] Unable to open projects when ethernet adapter is disabled
Reproduction steps:
1. Disable all active ethernet adapters (Make sure you are still connected to internet via Wi-fi)
2. Open Unity Hub
3. Open an existing project through Unity Hub
Expected result: Unity Editor opens
Actual result: Unity Editor does not open
Reproduces on: Unity Hub 2.3.1, 2.3.2
Workaround: Turn on the ethernet adapter (no active internet connection via the adapter is needed)

I am using wired connection as wifi card was dead.
removing the dead wifi card allowed me to open project.
Unity shows no error or help when this problem happens... it just silently closes. crap User experience.

Seems related to this one: https://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues/unity-wont-open-when-wireless-adapter-is-disabled-in-windows-device-manager-although-internet-is-coming-from-wired-connection definitely is NOT fixed! I have not been able to open Unity since my wifi adapter failed yesterday. I never use wifi btw and my ethernet is fine.

The problem still exists with hub version 2.4.2.
I changed from the internal WiFi NIC to a more up-to-date USB WiFi NIC, disabled the internal card (adapter) and then unity projects wont open anymore. With the internal WiFi NIC enabled they open as usual.

I've opened my project on to verify if it works or not. You are right, all my essays don't work with ethernet adapter. I guess I have to write my paper by hand for now

2 months and still no fix in the horizon... Keep this up and you will lose customers to other game engines, and mind you they are catching up.

This is also the case if your Ethernet Adapter is Enabled and your Wireless Adapter is Disabled. Same symptoms and results as what is listed above. Unity Editor goes to launch, stops and just reopens the Hub.
Intel l221 Giagbit Network Adapter (Enabled)
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160Mhz Adapter (Disabled)

Mind you, this isn't restricted to Ethernet adapters.
I uninstalled VPN software from my machine, and the virtual adapter that it installed was the MAC tied to the license.
I was able to spoof a new adapter to get around this, but this could completely hose some peoples' licenses.
To the devs: Please do not use MAC addresses for licensing purposes. That is a very bad idea. It's almost (almost) as bad as using a an IP. It is trivially easy to spoof MAC addresses, which means it is trivially easy to steal someone's license.

While the workaround of enabling adapters does work as an interim solution, if you perform your work on a corporate computer system that the IT department has locked down, you won't be able to enable the adapter due to permissions.
