Game view scale is reset after changing game view size

Scene/Game View

-

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a project
2. Zoom the game view using the scale manipulation
3. Resize game view

Expected behavior:
After changing the game view scale it should keep it's changed value even after resizing the game view.

Actual behavior:
Changed game view scale changes back to default after resizing the game view.

Workaround:
After the scale resets, change it's value again.

I am cross referencing an active bug report for the same issue.

Please reopen this issue, it is NOT fixed. Unity 2018.3, Windows 10. Game view automatically resets to 1.25x scale every time I hit play. Hitting pause and adjusting the slider does not fix. Resetting Unity does not fix. Unchecking "Low Resolution Aspect Ratios" does not fix (checking this box makes 1.25x scale the minimum). Changing the build target does not fix.

Another bug that occurred at the same time as this one is that the resolution in Game view when running from the editor is terrible. This is a problem for certain kinds of game testing and demos. It feels related to the bug in the OP because the higher the scale, the worse the resolution gets.

As an aside, adjustable Scale is a completely useless feature IMO, I cannot imagine any reason anyone would ever intentionally set this value to anything other than 1.

I have found a workaround for the new bug:

    - Switch to another build platform (e.g. "Standalone")
    - Uncheck "Low Aspect Resolution Ratios"
    - Move the "Scale" slider to 1x
    - Switch back to "iOS" build platform

This fixes the problem for me (on Unity 2018.3.4).

The exact same bug is happening again in 2018.3.2f1 and higher (including 2019 beta). Please reopen this issue.
