Game view disappears after playmode
This issue is floating and appears in a while when user works with Editor for a certain time.
Both GameView and SceneView should be visible.
To repro:
Create a simple project.
1. Add gameobject (cube, sphere, canvas etc).
2. Add some script (all projects contained Time.deltaTime()).
3. Start playmode.
4. Collapse Editor (?).
Actual result: If you expand Editor, Gameview will blackout (like no Display is selected).
Expected result: Gameview is not hidden.
Workaround:
Launch the editor with -force-gfx-direct flag.
Regression since 5.3.
Is present in 5.4 and trunk.
Tested on 5.4.0b24-b25-0f1-0f3, 5.5.0a3-5.5.0a5.

Even though this says it's resolved, I have been getting a very similar issue on and off for the past couple of years, although, it seems that it mainly haunts the newer versions of unity for me, although it still occasionally occurs in the latest stable 2017 releases.
The issue usually occurs for me when resizing one of the in-editor windows, and anything I try to do either does nothing, or puts Unity in a (Not Responding) state, and I have to end the process in task manager.
Yeah, it's a huge pain for me, and I hope they'll find the real root of this issue soon instead of just patching it up after a long time of headache... I basically cannot use Unity 2018 at all because of this, and there are many things I'd like to do with the new features.

For another workaround, save your window layout (top right drop down). When this happen, choose your saved layout and it will be visible again.

If anyone needs the link to find the patch for this, you can click the following:
https://unity3d.com/unity/qa/patch-releases
I can confirm, for those that are wondering (and as a future reference for myself), that the latest patch (5.4.2p3 - Released on Nov 2) fixed the issue.

Folks, 5.4.1p2 is *after* 5.4.1f1 - the build with the fix has not been released yet. It should be out in the next few days. If you're not using the patch releases then the next version you'll see that has this change in is 5.4.2.
