Navigating a scene has spikes when starting new movement
To reproduce:
1. Create new project
2. Navigate a scene using RMB + A when switch to RMB + D (to move left and right)
3. Repeat step 2 few times
4. Notice how you get a spike around a second when you switch the direction

Solution is to enable Animated Materials in the top bar of the Scene window. It's in the Skybox/Fog/Flares button next to Toggle 2D/Lights/Sound.

Weird issue where having a Youtube video in Chrome open in the background (maximised) will smooth out the movement.
100% replicable. Even switching from that tab to another, or minimising Chrome, instantly sends Unity back to being jerky.

Still happens in 5.3.X - always.

Most likely same as or related to issue 722483. Extremely frustrating, looks like the whole Editor keeps freezing for a short while. PLEASE fix it!

In 5.1.x this doesn't happen, this issue only occurs in 5.2.x and is annoying.
Hope you solve it,
Thanks.
