Visual Scripting window is empty when an exception is thrown
Reproduction steps:
- Open the user attached project
- Open the “SampleScene” scene
- In the Assets folder open the “New Script Graph” asset
Expected result: Visual Scripting window displays a graph
Actual result: Visual Scripting window is empty
Reproducible with: 1.7.7, 1.7.8, 1.8.0-pre.1 (2020.3.37f1, 2021.3.8f1, 2022.1.13f1, 2022.2.0b4, 2023.1.0a5)
Reproduced on: Windows 10
Note: notice that the issue happens when an exception is thrown, in this case, it’s “UnityException: More than one 'Unity.VisualScripting.SceneVariables' singleton in scene 'SampleScene'.” The window starts to work properly after resolving the issue
