Visible artifacts on a Sprite Atlas preview image when using ASTC 6x6 Compression with Fast quality
Reproduction steps:
# Open the attached “SpriteAtlasTest.zip” project
# Ensure that the “iOS” Platform is selected in the Build Settings (File > Build Settings)
# Select the “Assets/ResourceIconSpriteAtlas.spriteatlasv2” Sprite Atlas Asset in the Project window
# Observe the preview of the compressed texture in the Inspector window
Expected result: The preview image is compressed correctly and doesn’t contain any artifacts
Actual result: Black artifacts are clearly visible all over the preview image
Reproducible with: 2021.3.8f1, 2021.3.16f1, 2022.1.24f
Not reproducible with: 2020.3.44f1, 2021.3.7f1, 2022.2.2f1, 2023.1.0a24
Reproducible on: M1 MacOS 13.1
