“Value cannot be null. Parameter name: source” exception is thrown when overwriting preset file while Inspector is empty
Reproduction steps:
1. Open attached project "ProjectSettingsRevert.zip"
2. In Project Settings window, open Input Manager tab
3. Make sure that the Inspector window doesn't have any Asset/GameObject selected
4. Open "Select Preset" dialog by clicking the Preset selector (the slider icon) at the top-right of the Inspector window
5. In "Select Preset" dialog, press "Save current to..." and overwrite any previously existing Preset file
6. Observe Console window
Expected result: No errors
Actual result: “ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: source” error
Reproducible with: 2022.1.0a13
Not reproducible with: 2019.4.32f1, 2020.3.21f1, 2021.1.27f1, 2021.2.0f1, 2022.1.0a12
