UI Builder becomes unresponsive when selecting VisualElements
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the user's attached project
2. Open Assets > templates > test.uxml
3. In the UI Builder window select buttons one by one
Expected result: Buttons get selected instantly
Actual result: Buttons get selected after a delay
Reproducible with: 1.0.0-preview.17 (2019.4.38f1), 1.0.0-preview.18 (2020.3.32f1), Built-in (2021.2.19f1, 2021.3.0f1, 2022.1.0f1, 2022.2.0a11)

Resolution Note:
While there is indeed pain associated to the slowness of response, this issue cannot be fixed until we address this in a more involved technical sustainability effort that will be scheduled for the 23.1 cycle. Various sources cause slowness with selection and they require some refactoring at a larger level. Postponed.
