Shaders turn dark in Pause mode when setting properties via Shader Globals
Steps to reproduce:
1. Load attached Unity Project "ShaderGlobals" (link in comments)
2. Load Scene Scenes\VisualTests\testForunity
3. Enter Play mode
4. Pause
5. Select random buildings in the Scene View or open Visuals->Models->Materials in Project Explorer and click on materials in a random order
Note: doing this in Play mode will result in materials turning black for only a moment
Expected result: no unexpected color changes when paused/browsing materials
Actual result: materials turn dark when browsing Scene/Hierarchy panels, example: https://oc.unity3d.com/index.php/s/j6GOHUmeQLHgVKw
Reproducible with: 2017.1.0b6, 2017.1.0f3, 2017.2.0f2
Not reproducible with: 5.6.* (according to the user - not checked due to project incompatibility), 2017.1.0b1, 2017.1.0b5
Regression introduced in: 2017.1.0b6
