Scripts cannot be selected in Hierarchy and Scripts are missing in the Inspector when a folder containing them is renamed before launching the Editor
How to reproduce:
1. Create and open a new project
2. Create a folder inside the Project tab and a Script in it
3. Asign the Script to a new GameObject
4. Exit the Editor
5. Rename the folder to any other name
6. Re-open the project
7. Select the new GameObject and observe the Inspector
8. Select the Script in the renamed folder in the Project tab and observe the Project tab
Expected results: GameObject has a working Script in the Inspector and the Script can be selected in the Project tab
Actual results: GameObject has a missing Script in the Inspector and the Script cannot be selected in the Project tab
Reproducible in: 6000.0.22f1, 6000.0.33f1, 6000.1.0a10
Not reproducible in: 2021.3.47f1, 2022.3.55f1, 6000.0.21f1
Reproduced on: Windows 11 Pro (23H2)
Not reproduced on: No other environment tested
Workaround: Restart the project one more time
Note: The folder with the old name is still in the Project tab, but it has no contents, although it should have been deleted
