Rendering artifacts using Custom Render Texture shader on Sphere Game Object

--

-

To reproduce:
1. Create a new 3D URP template project
2. Use either Metal, DX11 or DX12
3. Create a sphere game object in the Hierarchy
3. Create Shader > Custom Render Texture Shader
4. Create a material from the shader
5. Add the material to the sphere
6. Observe the Scene window

Expected: no rendering artifacts
Actual: getting a lot of rendering artifacts in the Scene view

Reproducible on:
2022.3.4f1, 2022.3.6f1, 2023.1.6f1, 2023.2.0b2

Not reproducible on:
2022.3.3f1

Notes:
- Does not reproduce on OpenGLCore
- On Windows, getting different artifacts doing same repro steps (DirectX11)
- Same behavior on DirectX 12

  1. Resolution Note (fix version 2023.3.0a6):

Fixes the rendering artifacts using Custom Render Texture shader on Sphere Game Object and material preview for DX platforms. It's also important to note that Custom Render Textures are not designed to function with spherical object.

  2. Resolution Note (fix version 2023.2.0b10):

Backport: Fix rendering artifact for custom render texture for sphere game object

  3. Resolution Note (fix version 2023.1.14f1):

Backport: Fix rendering artifact on custom render textures.

  4. Resolution Note (fix version 2022.3.10f1):

Backport: Fix rendering artifact of custom render texture with sphere game object.
