PostProcessing Bloom effect is not rendered when it is displayed on a Quad GameObject
How to reproduce:
1. Open the “PostProcessingBloomBug.zip“ project
2. Open the “PostProcessExperimentScene“ Scene
3. Observe the Game view
Expected results: The bloom effect is visible on the Quad
Actual results: The bloom effect is not visible on the Quad
Reproducible in: 3.2.0, 3.4.0 (2021.3.37f1, 2022.3.25f1, 2023.2.19f1, 6000.0.0b15)
Not reproducible in: 3.1.1 (2021.3.37f1, 2022.3.25f1, 2023.2.19f1, 6000.0.0b15)
Reproduced on: Windows 11 Pro
Not reproduced on: No other environment tested
Notes:
- Other PostProcessing effects (like “Vignette”) are displayed correctly
- Reproducible in the Player

Resolution Note:
Thanks for reporting this and sharing the details! After reviewing the case, we found that this behavior is actually by design. The target texture is currently using the ARGB32 (R8G8B8A8_UNORM) color format, which clamps color values. Because of this, the bloom effect isn’t noticeable with the render texture camera.
If you switch the color format to a floating-point format, such as R16G16B16A16_SFLOAT, the bloom should work as expected.
