Issue ID
1174736
Regression
No
Necessary shaders are stripped from Asset Bundles when they are not in the same bundle as the materials using them
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project ("AssetBundleInstancingBug.zip")
2. Open the repro scene ("InitialScene")
3. Enter Play Mode
4. Notice that the loaded scene remains empty
5. Open the "BundledTestScene"
6. Notice that the cubes were successfully instantiated
Expected results: Cubes are successfully instantiated from the bundles
Actual results: Cubes are not instantiated, as they lack shaders
Reproducible with: 2017.4.32f1, 2018.4.7f1, 2019.2.2f1, 2019.3.0a12, 2020.1.0a1

Resolution Note (2020.2.X):
We try to be as diligent as we can and want to prioritize bugs that are causing issues with shipping and frequent pain points in the day to day works. To ensure we are targeting the most important bugs we regularly close out older bugs that have not reached this threshold over the past months. The bug you have currently raised has not met this threshold for fixing over the last few months.
