Missing UI in XR Simulation for desktop Build Target
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use Unity 2023.2 to create a new project from AR Mobile Template.
2. In Build Settings, Choose Desktop.
3. Project Settings > XR Plug-in Management > Desktop > XR Simulation.
4. Enter Play mode.
Actual results:
The Build menu, Options menu, and Delete button are missing. Also, after clicking Continue on the Welcome UI, the hints UI does not appear. See attached screenshot.
Expected results:
Change Build Target to iOS or Android to see correct behavior.
The Build menu, Options menu, and Delete button should be apparent. Also, after clicking Continue on the Welcome UI, the hints UI should prompt the user to scan planes, spawn objects, etc.
Reproducible with versions:
Unity 2023.10f1
Mac Mini - M1, MacOS 14.3
Build Target = Desktop
Not reproducible with versions:
Unity 2023.10f1
Mac Mini - M1, MacOS 14.3
Build Target = iOS or Android
Can’t test with versions:
Tested on (OS):
Notes:
- Likely resolution is a work-around in docs to use iOS or Android in Build Settings.

The dependent AR Foundation package that affects the UI visibility has been updated to 5.2.0 which accounts for running in simulation mode on desktop.
