[macOS] Inconsistent crash in objc_msgSend/objc_retain when previewing Animations with Animator window open
How to reproduce:
1. Open tester-attached project(AnimatorCrash.zip)
2. Enter Play Mode
3. In the Animator window, switch to the 'Parameters' tab
4. Toggle the only parameter off and on; wait for the animation in the Game View to finish each time
5. If the crash does not occur shortly, restart the Editor and repeat step 1-4
Expected result: the Editor does not crash
Actual result: the Editor eventually crashes
Reproducible with: 2019.3.13f1, 2020.1.0b9, 2020.2.0a11
Not reproducible with: 2017.4.40f1, 2018.4.23f1

I'm having the same issue on Unity 2019.4.7f1
when editing animations then hitting play, unity will lock up for a while then spring back into life.
Often Unity will just crash when hitting play.
at least once I got a KP and Unity crashed Catalina.

Hello! I had the same issue but it was connected with metal renderer interaction. After disabling metal in the editor crash is gone.

as a workaround, dock the animator and animation editors in the the same tabbed window, so you can only see one at a time. for me this has stopped the crashes completely.
