Same problem here when changing the sprite and/or the color. Moreover when a shadow component is used, only the shadow is displayed after changing the sprite.
I'm using Unity 2019.1.0f2

Just upgraded to 2019.1.0f2 and this is absolutely broken in there. Sprite switching via script is causing deformation.

In 2019.1.0f1 setting the .color works, but only until reassigning the .sprite. Once a new sprite is set, the .color setting stops working.
