I’ve only been experiencing this crash since Unity 6000.0.35f1. For the past 10 years, it has never happened - no matter which PC or which version of Windows I used. Apart from updating to this Unity version, there were no changes in Windows updates or the Nvidia driver. So it does seem very possible that Unity could fix this issue. 😇🎈

Agreed, not HANDLING for this case is ridiculous. At least give us a graceful exit or something. As it stands, we lose our session when Unity crashes.

"there's nothing we can do from our side to manipulate your internal GPU", ok , but you can handle that ! That's crazy

This wasn't a thing in 2021.1 for me. I think Unity SHOULD resolve this issue either by itself, or talking with Apple. No other app have the same problem. This is (won't fix) not an acceptable solution. It affects productivity, time, energy consumption, usability and of course mental patience. This is an annoying BUG.

Resolution Note:
Seeing as the GPU of your system disconnects when your computer goes into Stand By mode, Unity loses connection to it and can no longer operate. Unfortunately, this is a known occurrence, but there's nothing we can do from our side to manipulate your internal GPU. I suggest that you set up your automatic Stand By mode in a way that if Unity is running, it won't automatically go to sleep.
