AR Camera does not work with Video Player on ARCore

I tried out AR Foundation a little by placing a plane with a video player in the SampleScene.
It worked as expected on iOS, but on Android I faced a problem:

This is not just with Unity's VideoPlayer. We have a custom video player, and I have tried it with Easy Movie Texture, and all exhibit this problem, with in my case every other AR Background frame is replaced with the video, even if the video isn't supposed to be playing full screen.
I'm trying to play a video on a polygon in the AR scene
