Hi, I have the same issue with the 2017 like PETEREPT2
I use mixed mode None and cardboard, works fine with Unity 5.6.1p4.
    None working on 2017.3.
The time looks very long .........
    Thank you
    Julien

Seriously, this is a nightmare. What is going on? The only builds for Cardboard I can make is back on Unity 5.6.1p4 ! That works fine. In 2017.1 and 2017.3 no joy - black screen on iOS.

Am I missing some work-around? How is anyone releasing any Cardboard apps on 2017+ ?

Is it because I have a mixed mode None+Cardboard app ? All my apps are mixed mode...

I resolved after a long time: in Player Settings (Edit/Project Settings/Player) I disabled "Force hard shadows on Metal*", "Metal Editor Support (Experimental)" and "Graphics Jobs (Experimental)*", I enabled "Prebake Collision Meshes*" and the I added under the voice "Preloaded Assets*" one of the principal GameObject of my scene. Running on my iPhone 6s it works fine!
    I hope this can help.

    Machine: MacBook Air late 2013
    Unity Version: 5.6.2f1
    Runned on: iPhone 6s
