One fix to consider, Disable the OVR Overlay component of the GazeIcon Object attached to OVRGazePointer. My UI and Oculus touch Controller are working. I am new to Virtual reality development so I am not sure what the full implications of disabling the OVR Overlay component are, but it works. After only a few minutes of searching online my understanding is that it improves overall rendering quality. Overall rendering quality when testing on my Oculus rift does not seem bad at all.

Im having the same problem with Unity version 2017.3.1f1. I have found that the problem is caused by the GazeIcon object, which is a child to the OVRGazePointer object.

I am still running into this error when using the headset.
Although running the game on the Mixed Reality Portal simulator works.

I just filed a bug report using this thread's subject and asked them to change the status from "Resolved" and to then resolve it for real...
Let's hope they listen. Touch wood

Does this have to be resubmitted seeing as it is listed as fixed, even though, as a few have said, it isn't yet? Of which I can confirm as I'm receiving this error in a VR project.

This is one of those very discouraging errors that really halts production. Please fix this.
