Unity crashes with Fatal error "GetManagerFromContext:pointer to object..." when removing LOD Group Component
1. Create a new Unity project
2. Create empty GameObject and add a LOD Group component to it
3. Remove LOD Group component
Expected result: LOD Group component gets removed
Actual result: "GetManagerFromContext: pointer to object of manager "RenderSettigns" is NULL (table index 25)..." error appears and you have to quit Unity
Regression introduced in - 2017.1.0f1
Reproducible with - 2017.1.0f1
Not reproducible with - 2017.2.0b1, 2017.1.0b10, 5.6.2p1

I'm still getting this error and I've deleted all my LOD GROUPS, It only happens when the inspector window is open during play mode, happens on 2017.1 all versions so far all the way up to patch 5

i crashed EVERYTIME when i click a gameobject with lodgroup in my saved scene
without a remove!
