Static batched GameObjects with negative scale transform have incorrectly calculated Tangents when the Play mode is entered
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “Static Batch 2.zip” project
2. Open the “Normalissue” scene
3. Open “Rendering Debugger” Window (Window > Analysis > Rendering Debugger)
4. Select “Material” and in the “Common Material Properties” choose “Normal”
5. Observe the “beach_cliff_02_ending_left (1)” GameObject
6. Enter the Play mode
7. Repeat 4th and 5th steps
Expected result: Batched tangents are calculated correctly, same as before entering the Play mode
Actual result: GameObjects with negative scale transform have incorrectly calculated Tangents
Reproducible with: 2021.3.34f1, 2022.1.0b1
Not reproducible with: 2022.3.19f1, 2023.2.9f1, 2023.3.0b6
Fixed in: 2022.2.0a1
Reproducible on: Windows 11
Not reproducible on: no other environment tested
Note:
- Problem appears when multiple static batched GameObjects are at the scene
