UUM-71333
Regression
Yes
Settings Search results not always matching search term correctly
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a Project.
- Open Edit > Project Settings
- View Player > Other Settings > Rendering and observe the "Auto Graphics API for Linux" setting.
- Start typing: "for Linux" or, if this doesn't reproduce the issue, type "for Windows"
Actual results: The text begins to highlight as expected, but then this settings window disappears from the search results once you type "for Lin" or "for Wi".
Expected results: The setting continues to highlight as expected.
Reproducible with versions: 6000.0.0f1, 2023.3.0a2
Not reproducible with versions: 2021.3.37f1, 2022.3.28f1, 2023.2.20f1
Can't test: 2023.3.0a1, this version was never promoted
Tested on (OS): Mainly Ubuntu 20.04, Mac 12.7.4, Windows 11
Notes:
- There are no errors displayed when this happens.
- "for Linux" will not return a result, but "API for Linux" will. (Only tested in 6000.0.3f1)
- Attached .mp4s of this issue occurring. It happens with more than the above search terms.
- Also repros on Mac in 6000.0.0f1.
- Doesn't always repro with "graphics api", but I ran into this while trying to find the Graphics API settings - and spent a while searching in the returned window only to realise that it wasn't there. See SearchIssue2.mp4 for this happening.
