Regression

No

"RemoteProviderException : Unable to load asset bundle” error is thrown when the Caching class is used and the WebGL platform is selected

Package: Addressables

-

Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “ASDQWE” project
2. Open the “Assets/Scenes/SampleScene.unity” Scene
3. Open the Addresables Group Window (Window > Asset Management > Addressables > Group)
4. In the Addresables Group Window, select (Build > New Build > Default Build Script)
5. Enter the Play Mode
6. Inside the Game View, press the “go to scene2” button
7. Observe the Console Window

Expected result: No error is thrown
Actual result: “RemoteProviderException : Unable to load asset bundle” error is thrown

Reproducible with: 1.21.12 (2021.3.28f1, 2022.3.3f1, 2023.1.3f1, 2023.2.0a22), 1.21.14 (2022.3.3f1, 2023.1.3f1, 2023.2.0a22)
Could not test with: 1.21.14 (2021.3.28f1) (“Web request failed to load from cache” when pressing the “go to scene2” button and pink Game View when pressing “sc3” button)

Reproducible on: Intel MacOS 13.4

Notes:

* WebGL Platform must be selected for the reproduction to occur
* In 2021.3.28f1, 2022.3.3f1, 2023.1.3f1, and 2023.2.0a22, pressing the “sc3” button results in the Game View turning pink in the Editor
* Selecting the Standalone platform does not reproduce the issue in the Editor or the built Player with: 2021.3.28f1, 2022.3.3f1, 2023.1.3f1, 2023.2.0a22. However, in the Editor, when pressing the “go to scene2” button, the “Web request failed to load from cache” error is thrown, while the “sc3” button works correctly

  1. Resolution Note:

The project as given has a set url to download the bundles from. I have to assume that the bundles aren't getting uploaded since changing that hardcoded url to one I know the bundles are at for testing purposes, works as expected.
