[particles] Removing a ParticleSystem from a component leaves behind an orphan ParticleSystemRenderer.
In the player:
1)Add a particle system to a gameobject.
2)Destroy the particle system(not the gameobject)
3)Call GetComponent<Renderer>() on the GameObject, notice the particle system renderer is still present.
