'Optimized GUI Block text buffer too large' error is thrown if Player Settings are opened while Inspector is in Debug mode
To reproduce:
1. Create a new project
2. Change Inspector mode from 'Normal' to 'Debug'
3. Open Player Settings
Expected vs Actual: there should not be any errors
Reproduced: 2017.2.0p3, 2017.2.0p4, 2017.3.0f1, 2017.3.0f3, 2018.1.0a6
Not reproducible: 5.6.3p4, 2017.1.2p3

Same here, only it happens when opening older projects and going to "Player Settings", too.
