New Hierarchy visibility and pickability icon behavior differs from documentation
Reproduction steps:
1. Create a new project and ensure the “Use new Hierarchy” setting is enabled
2. Create any Shader Graph (Create > Shader Graph)
3. Double-click newly created Asset to open the Shader Graph window
4. Click on any GameObject in the Hierarchy
5. Click anywhere in the Shader Graph window
Actual result: Visibility and pickability icons remain visible even though documentation states they should only appear when hovering over a GameObject
Expected result: The behaviour of the visibility and pickability icons matches the documentation
Reproducible with: 6000.3.0b2, 6000.3.15f1, 6000.4.7f1, 6000.5.0b8, 6000.6.0a5
Not reproducible with: 6000.3.0b1 (0470b869db67)
Couldn’t reproduce with: 6000.0.75f1 (No new Hierarchy window)
Reproduced on: Windows 11, macOS Tahoe 26.4 (M4)
Note: Issue is only reproducible with new Hierarchy window

Resolution Note:
Thank you for reporting a bug to Unity.
We have reviewed the issue carefully, and in this case, it's a by design behaviour for hierarchy v2 using collection view. Please create a documentation ticket if you think the original documentation is no longer valid. Thanks!
