GameObject icon disappears when selecting the GameObject
How to reproduce:
1. Open the user-attached project “test2020”
2. Open the “SampleScene” scene
3. Select “GameObject” GameObject in the Hierarchy
4. Observe the Scene View
Expected result: The blue icon of GameObject is visible
Actual result: The blue icon of GameObject is invisible
Reproducible with: 2020.3.38f1, 2020.3.41f1
Not reproducible with: 2020.3.37f1, 2021.3.12f1, 2022.1.20f1, 2022.2.0b12, 2023.1.0a15
Reproduced on: Windows 11 Pro
Workaround: Reloading the scene makes the icon appear again

I'd like to add that this also occurs with custom select icons.
I have also noticed a really annoying case where trying to use the rectangle select tool over multiple tends to randomly select only some within the selector's boundaries. It randomly flickers about for which is actually selected.
I noticed this issue doing this, but when unselecting the selection icon would return. Then I tried a test project and I got the more basic issue where the icon just does not show and objects cannot even be selected with a rectangle at all.
