Duplicating an object while interacting with the scene using The Hand Tool does not select the duplicate
To reproduce:
1. Open a new Unity project
2. Create a 3D object (cube, for example) and select it
4. Select The Hand Tool and use it in the scene view
5. While using The Hand Tool, press ctrl+d (duplicate)
Expected result: duplicating and object should create a duplicate and select it
Actual result: A duplicate is created, but the original object is still selected (see attached gif "handtool.gif")
Reproduced on: 5.5.4f1, 5.6.1p2, 2017.1.0b9, 2017.2.0a3
