Domain reload takes longer when Python Scripting package is installed
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “BugRepro” project
2. Open the “Assets/Scene/SampleScene” Scene
3. Enter Play Mode and measure the time it takes to finish loading the Scene
4. Exit Play Mode
5. In the Package Manager window, install the Python Scripting package
6. Repeat step 3
Expected result: The time to load in step 3 and 6 is roughly the same
Actual result: In step 3 loading took around 8 seconds, while in step 6 it took around 20 seconds
Reproducible with: 6.0.0 (2021.3.39f1, 2022.3.32f1), 7.0.1 (2021.3.39f1, 2022.3.32f1, 6000.0.5f1)
Not reproducible with: 5.0.0-pre.5 (2021.3.39f1)
Reproducible on: Windows 11, macOS 14.3 (M3 Max) (By user)
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
- Any bigger project will be fine for reproduction instead of “BugRepro”
- Loading times may vary due to different machine specifications
