Crash when cyclic dependency not detected caused by a git merge and not through the UI
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the user's attached project
2. Select "BaseMaterial" in the project window
Expected result: Editor crashes
Actual result: Editor throws an error
Reproducible with: 2022.1.0b7, 2022.2.0a1, 2022.2.0a3
Not reproducible with: 2022.1.0b8, 2022.1.0b11, 2022.2.0a4, 2022.2.0a7
Could not test with: 2019.4.36f1, 2020.3.30f1 (feature was not in these versions)
