Build fails with a Console error "System.Xml.XmlException" when building a project with MetaXR
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached "PROJECTFILE" project
2. Open the Build Settings (File > Build Settings)
3. Build the project
4. Observe the Console
Expected result: The build succeeds without failing
Actual result: The build fails with a Console error “System.Xml.XmlException: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1."
Reproducible with: 2021.3.38f1, 2022.3.26f1, 6000.0.0f1
Reproducible on: macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (M1 Max)
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
Note: Could not test with Windows 11 because the project does not open
