[Android][Mali-T720] Crash occurs when DynamicGI.UpdateEnvironment method is called at the start of the Scene
How to reproduce:
- Open the user’s attached “TestProject1” project
- Build and Run the “SampleScene” Scene on Android device
- Observe crash
Reproducible with: 2020.3.37f1, 2021.3.6f1, 2022.1.9f1, 2022.2.0b1, 2023.1.0a3
Reproducible on: macOS 12.3 (Intel), Windows 11
Reproducible with devices:
VLNQA00332 - Samsung Galaxy XCover4 (SM-G390F), CPU: Exynos 7 Quad 7570, GPU: Mali-T720, OS: 9.0.0
VLNQA00313 - HUAWEI Y6 Ⅱ Compact (HUAWEI LYO-L01), CPU: MediaTek MT6735, GPU: Mali-T720, OS: 5.1.0

So frustrating. This is happening for several years. If you support a platform, Android in this case, you should purchase and test it on a lot of devices!
Everytime we get a lot of one star reviews and refunds on this mobile platform due to this internal engine error. Since it’s closed source there’s nothing we can do. -

I can confirm the crash occurs on all devices with Mali-T720 - on Unity 2021.3.22f1

Latest issues

This is a 2 year old bug with limited device repo, closing this until its found to be a more wide spread issue. Its difficult to repo this internally because of the device types.
