Upgrading a HDRP project results in numerous Kernel at index invalid errors
How to reproduce:
1. Create a new HDRP template project in 2020.2.1f1 or earlier
2. Exit the project
3. Launch the project in 2020.2.2f1
Expected result: no errors are thrown; Scene and Game view are functional
Actual result: hundreds of error are thrown; Scene and Game view are not rendered properly
Reproducible with: 2020.2.2f1
Not reproducible with: 2018.4.30f1, 2019.4.18f1, 2020.2.1f1, 2021.1.0a1, 2021.1.0b2, 2021.2.0a1
Notes:
Same HDRP version is used in between project versions
Also reproducible with a default 3D Template project that has installed HDRP and then been upgraded
Unchecking the 'Use default API for your current platform' setting and then adding and removing another random API clears the errors
