Unity crashes if variant Sprite Atlas scale results in NPOT texture when Crunch Compression is enabled

1. Import attached sprite (in comments)
2. Assets > right click > Create > Sprite Atlas
3. Pack the sprite inside the atlas without any modification
4. Assets > right click > Create > Sprite Atlas
5. Set this atlas type as a Variant, set the first atlas as its Master
6. In Default, set compression to "Low Quality", enable "Use Crunch Compression"
7. Set Scale to 0.94
8. PACK PREVIEW

Unity will crash.

Occurring on: 2017.1.0f3 onwards until 2017.3.0b2 (current latest build)
