Undoing a Text change in Text Components pastes restored text into Project Settings fields
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached "1292220" project
2. Open the SampleScene
3. Select the Canvas -> "Edited" Prefab and delete the text in its Text component
4. Open Edit -> Project Settings -> Player
5. Select CompanyName text field
6. Press CTRL+Z to undo the previous Prefab Text change
Expected result: The Company Name field is unchanged by CTRL+Z
Actual result: The Company Name field is replaced with the text undone by CTRL+Z or it is cleared
Reproducible with: 2018.4.29f1, 2019.4.15f1, 2020.1.14f1, 2020.2.0a15, 2020.2.0b12
Not reproducible with: 2021.1.0a1, 2021.1.0a10
Note:
- The same issue occurs in other Project Settings fields, where you can input text
- The same result can be seen in the Project Window's Search bar
- You might need to try it a few times before it reproduces
