The Editor becomes unresponsive and the machine performs worse when the Editor is opened
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “HDRP Terrain stuff” Project
2. Open the “Assets/TerrainDemoScene_HDRP/Scenes/TerrainDemoScene.unity” Scene
3. Move the Scene view camera around
Expected result: The Scene view maintains stable FPS and there are no artifacts
Actual result: The Editor becomes unresponsive and the machine slows down drastically
Reproducible with: 2022.1.0a1, 2022.1.24f1, 2022.2.16f1, 2023.1.0b13
Not reproducible with: 2020.3.47f1, 2021.3.22f1
Could not test with: 2021.2.0b1 (Terrain Tools package is not available)
Fixed in: 2023.2.0a1
Reproducible on: macOS 13.1 (Intel, M1), macOS 13.3 (Intel)
Note: After the reproduction steps, the Editor (no StackTrace) or the machine sometimes crashes
