Selecting game objects in the scene view does not highlight them in hierarchy when custom editor layout is set
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open "BrokenNestedHierarchySelectionRepro_src.zip" project
2. Try selecting "cube" in the scene view
-Cube does not become highlighted in the hierarchy
Expected result: selecting the game object in the scene should reveal its position in the hierarchy even with custom editor layout.
Note: Everything works as expected when editor layout is changed to default.
Reproduced on: 5.6.0b2, 5.5.0p1
Not able to reproduce on 5.4.3f1, 5.3.6p5 (getting a Fatal error, inspect attached image for more information).
