[MacOS] Scene is marked/flickering as dirty (with asterisk) when dragging a Material on a GameObject in Scene view
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new Unity project using a 3D Universal Template
- Add a Plane GameObject to the Hierarchy (right-click > 3D Object > Plane)
- In the Project window, create a new Material
- Save the Scene
- From the Project window, drag the material onto the Plane and drag it over the Plane without releasing left mouse button
- Observe the asterisk next to Scene name in Hierarchy
Actual results: Asterisk next to Scene name is flickering - appears and disappears randomly while dragging Material
Expected results: Scene is not marked dirty/with asterisk until the Material is assigned onto the Plane
Reproducible with versions: 6000.0.67f1, 6000.3.7f1, 6000.4.0b7, 6000.5.0a5{}{}
Tested on (OS): macOS 26.2 (M1)
