[RuntimeUpgrade] Editor crashes/freezes on trying to open project set back to .NET 3.5

--workaround: delete Library\ScriptAssemblies
--Windows: crash
--OSX: Unity process gets stuck "processing" something forever
--original project is https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/80368 and attached with almost everything but scripts folder deleted

--download attached project
--open it with Editor
--NOTICE editor crashes
--delete Library\ScriptAssemblies
--open project
--set .NET 4.6
--restart editor
--set .NET 3.5
--restart editor
