Number of Sub-Emitter particles is higher when Play Mode is on
How to reproduce:
1. Open the user’s attached project
2. Open the "sample" scene (Assets>sample)
3. In the Hierarchy expand “subemitter_test3” and “emitter” GameObjects then select “pink” GameObject
4. Start recording the screen and in the Scene view press the “Play” button in the Particles window
5. Stop recording and find the highest number of Particles in the recording
6. Enter Play Mode
7. Repeat the 4th and 5th steps
Expected result: The number of particles is the same
Actual result: The number of particles is higher in Play Mode
Reproducible with: 2020.3.42f1, 2021.3.15f1, 2022.1.24f1, 2022.2.1f1, 2023.1.0a22
Reproduced on: macOS 12.4 (Intel)
Notes:
- Reproducible when multiple particles are attached
- Not reproducible when a single particle is attached
- Numbers are different on different streams but in Play Mode it's always higher
