NullReferenceException is thrown when entering Play mode while Canvas is selected in Hierarchy
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the user's attached project
2. Open the 'SampleScene'
3. Select 'Canvas' GameObject in the Hierarchy window
4. Enter Play mode
Expected result: No errors are in the Console
Actual result: 'NullReferenceException' is thrown in the Console
Reproducible with: 2019.4.35f1, 2020.2.0a15, 2020.3.29f1, 2021.1.0b12, 2021.1.28f1
Not reproducible with: 2020.2.0a16, 2021.1.0b11, 2021.2.14f1, 2022.1.0b8, 2022.2.0a4
