NullReferenceException is thrown when creating State from a Selected Clip if that Clip is a Blend Tree

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open any Project
  2. Import the attached Unity Package
  3. In the Project Browser search for "v2Animator" and open it
  4. Double click the State "Running Blendtree"
  5. Select either the "Walk" or "Run" Blend Tree
  6. Go back to the Base Layer and right click anywhere on the black board
  7. Select "Create State > From Selected Clip"

Actual results: Error "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Expected results: No Error is logged and Blend Tree is not considered as a selected Clip

Reproducible with versions: 2022.3.64f1, 6000.0.54f1, 6000.1.14f1, 6000.2.0b13, 6000.3.0a3
