Memory Leak when searching in the hierarchy
When searching in hierarchy multiple times, Unity consumes more and more RAM.
To reproduce:
1.Open users attached project "memory leak repro.zip"
2.Open "reproscene.unity" scene
3.Open windows task manager
4.In the hierarchy type "cube"
Expected result: memory usage is normal
Actual result: Unity starts using more memory
Reproduced on: 5.6.0p4 5.6.1p1
Not reproduced on: 2017.1.0a2 2017.1.0b5

When i use thie search on even simple scene, Unity goes absolutely crazy. All resources on PC fully consumed requiring an emergency hot reboot. Very unprofessional to have such broken functionality that it breaks the users PC. A seriously bad by design implementation.

So, if I'm reading this page right, is Unity saying that since it's "Not Reproducible" in Unity 2017 they're not going to fix it in 5.6.1f1?

I, too, am seeing this - and it's pretty bad as it will chew through 20GB of RAM in a matter of less than a minute. I'm also seeing a memory leak if I search my Assets folder - but it's not as bad. I keep having to restart Unity, though, and it's a massive PITA.

We are just trying to switch to 5.6.0p4 and since our project is somewhat bigger it is now impossible to use the hierarchy search. Which makes it impossible to work with this version. A fix would be nice.
