Mask stops masking content after leaving mask rect
To reproduce:
1. Open attached project
2. Open Scene1
3. Drag Image game object outside of the mask
4. Notice that image becomes invisible

This is also true of objects that leave the mask rect during a game because of a scripted behavior.
