[macOS] Video loading performance degrades when app is in Windowed mode and an external monitor is connected
How to reproduce it:
1. Open the user's attached project "VideoBug.zip"
2. Connect an external monitor
3. Build and Run the project on macOS
4. Minimize the built app's window
5. In built app, press the "Restart" button multiple times
Expected results: black screen between restarts disappears after ~1 second, "Restart" button does not disappear
Actual results: black screen between restarts stay for longer than 1 second, "Restart" button sometimes disappears
Reproducible with: 2020.1.0a15, 2020.3.15f2, 2021.1.16f1, 2021.2.0b7, 2022.1.0a5
Not reproducible with: 2019.4.29f1, 2020.1.0a14
Notes:
- When the window is minimized and the issue is reproduced, dragging the mouse cursor away from the app window will temporarily fix this issue
- Reproducible when external monitor is connected to MacBook and minimized app is running on MacBook's monitor (non-external)
- Issue does not reproduce on Windows

When will this be fixed in LTS versions (2020.3.x or 2021.3.x)? It has been planned for a long time....

Any progress to this? I reported this issue back in July 2021 and still no sign of a fix has made it into 2020.3. The bug was a regression on 2020.3 which is meant to have a feature lock. We can't upgrade our project whenever 2022.x comes out just to get this fix, it's not an option for us, meanwhile there are no ways to fix this 7 months on from when it was reported and fixed.
