It's possible to change a hinge joint 2d motor speed to a negative value through scripting
To reproduce:
1. Open "New Unity Project"
2. Drag char_hero_beanman into the scene
3. Attach a hinge joint 2d and script "motorSpeed" to the beanman
4. Try changing the value of motor speed to a negative number - it gets changed back to 0
5. Enter play mode - the script changes the value to -100
