Grabbing Dynamic Attach interactable in Interaction Simulator makes controller spin

XR Interaction Toolkit

-

Synopsis:

While using Interaction Simulator, grabbing the Dynamic Attach half-torus in XRI Starter Assets DemoScene causes the controller to rotate on its own non-stop, until I release the mouse button and drop the object.  See TorusSpin.mp4 attached.

Same thing happens if I grab the half-torus using the G key.  I saw this on Windows 11 using Unity 6000.4.10f1 and Unity 6000.5.0b10.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Uncompress TorusSpin.zip (see attached) and open with Unity 6000.5.0b10.
  2. Open the DemoScene.
  3. Enter Play mode.
  4. Point the mouse at the half torus on the table in front of you.
  5. Click the left mouse button to grab the half torus.

Actual results:

The half torus jumps to your controller, and then the controller spins until you release the mouse button.

Expected results:

The half torus should jump to your controller, and not change your controller's orientation.

Reproducible with versions:

XRI 3.5.1

Not reproducible with versions:

Can’t test with versions:

Tested on (OS):

Windows 11

Notes:

  • I am assuming this is a regression, but have not gone back to earlier versions to verify.
